And still, I rise Maya Angelou

What I love about Maya Angelou's quote is that our body has a natural propensity to right itself. It wants balance (homeostasis). But all too often, it is the things that we do to try to make ourselves feel better, that keep us out of balance and in the grey. Or, it is the things that we avoid that makes us stuck. All of this we do with good intentions.

Mental health is about neurotransmitters (brain chemicals) but it is also about blood sugar management, nervous system regulation, the microbiome (gut bacteria), hormonal balance, epigenetics, nutrition and good lifestyle habits like sleep, movement and connection. Even, learning how to breathe properly.

Imbalances in all these areas, can result in depression, anxiety, a replay of unresolved trauma, dissociation, panic, poor concentration, anger, fear

My form of 'body therapy' complements talking therapy and medications. During the assessment we will identify where you are out of balance, what is keeping you there and what options you have.

I am trauma informed and non-judgemental. Your addictions, habits, hates and negative self-talk are all welcome into the consultation.
